Nancy Bufano
After earning her B.S. in human nutrition and food science from New Mexico State University, Nancy accepted a position of assistant to the national supervisor, Egg Products, at the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) in Washington, D.C., where she helped administer the national egg products inspection program with USDA's Agricultural Marketing Service for several years.
She left USDA to accept a position in the private sector as a marketing manager for a national food service management company, but was delighted to be able to return to government service a little over a year later. In her current position as a food technologist at FDA's Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition, Nancy is involved in regulatory policy for the Dairy and Egg Branch, Division of Plant and Dairy Food Safety.
