Magdalena Kendall
Magdalena is an Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education research fellow, working as a surveillance epidemiologist with CDC's Foodborne Diseases Active Surveillance Network (FoodNet). Magdalena grew up in Alaska where her family still commercially fishes wild salmon. After high school she studied biology at the University of California San Diego, then worked and traveled across Central America, Europe, Africa, and Asia. Magdalena received her MPH from Columbia University's Mailman School of Public Health in 2009, and subsequently began working at CDC.
