Lt. Laura A. Bettencourt
Laura is a first-year Epidemic Intelligence Service (EIS) Officer with the Enteric Disease Epidemiology Branch at CDC. She earned her PhD in Epidemiology from the University of Pittsburgh and a MPH from Emory University. She is also a Lieutenant in the U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps. At CDC, Laura has worked on two major foodborne disease outbreaks involving Salmonella and E. Coli.
